    A capable woman

A capable wife is her husband’s crown, but a wife who causes shame is like rottenness in his bones.    Proverbs 12:4

The word capable in this verse caught my attention. What does it mean to be a capable wife? If you look up the word capable in this verse, in Greek, it is hayil. Meaning: strength, skill, excellent, valor, wealth, army, troop, warrior.

I am blown away. No wonder she is her husbands crown! She is a super woman! She has strength and skill, she’s excellent, wealthy, and filled with valor(boldness, courageous). And the icing on top of the cake? She’s a warrior, not a weak one either, but instead an army. Think that’s not you? Well. I’ve got good news for you. With man, this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.

Read through these verses with the thought in mind, that yes, I am a capable woman and wife, and the reason why, is because I have let the Lord be the wind beneath my wings. He is the power behind the engine! May these words of scripture encourage you today, woman of God! :

“Who could ever find a wife like this one— she is a woman of strength and mighty valor! She’s full of wealth and wisdom. The price paid for her was greater than many jewels. Her husband has entrusted his heart to her, for she brings him the rich spoils of victory. All throughout her life she brings him what is good and not evil. She searches out continually to possess that which is pure and righteous. She delights in the work of her hands.”

    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭31:10-13‬ ‭TPT‬‬

The Lord GOD is my strength [my source of courage, my invincible army]; He has made my feet [steady and sure] like hinds’ feet And makes me walk [forward with spiritual confidence] on my high places [of challenge and responsibility].    ‭‭Habakkuk‬ ‭3:19‬ ‭AMP‬‬

“He said, “This is the message from the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Your help will not come from your own strength and power. No, your help will come from my Spirit.’ This is what the Lord All-Powerful says.”      ‭‭Zechariah‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭ERV‬‬

“Charm can be misleading, and beauty is vain and so quickly fades, but this virtuous woman lives in the wonder, awe, and fear of the Lord. She will be praised throughout eternity.”    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭31:30‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Through God we shall do valiantly: For he it is that will tread down our adversaries.    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭108:13‬ ‭ASV‬‬

“For who is God, except the LORD? And who is a rock, except our God? It is God who arms me with strength, And makes my way perfect.”

    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭18:31-32‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”.  (Phil. 4:13 ESVi)

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.”.   (Eph. 6:10 ESVi)

I can’t add anything more, except maybe this: the secret ingredient of being capable and becoming more so, is the ingredient of Love. Let all you do be done in love and through love. Without it, all you do is of no profit. Love never fails, that is why it is your greatest strength and weapon! “This is my prayer for you: that your love will grow more and more; that you will have knowledge and understanding with your love; that you will see the difference between what is important and what is not and choose what is important; that you will be pure and blameless for the coming of Christ; that your life will be full of the many good works that are produced by Jesus Christ to bring glory and praise to God.” Philippians‬ ‭1:9-11‬ ‭ERV‬‬

“I am convinced and confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will [continue to] perfect and complete it until the day of Christ Jesus [the time of His return].”  Philippians‬ ‭1:6‬ ‭AMP‬‬

    Blessings!
