    Arms outstretched

                 Arms outstretched

You can tell for sure that you are now fully adopted as his own children because God sent the Spirit of his Son into our lives crying out, “Papa! Father!” Doesn’t that privilege of intimate conversation with God make it plain that you are not a slave, but a child? And if you are a child, you’re also an heir, with complete access to the inheritance.”    ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭4:4-7‬ ‭MSG‬‬

God spoke to me today. I was watching two little girls playing, when one fell down and started crying. She immediately looked around, and seeing her daddy, she ran full out, arms outstretched reaching to be held. Amazingly, that is all it took for her to stop crying. Held by arms of love. It was at that moment, in that scene, I heard God say: “I’ll do the same for you.” It took my breath away, the simplicity of that statement and the truth behind it. Too often I forget that He IS my Abba Father. That I have a Dad in heaven who is for me, keeping me as the apple of His eye. The love I see between a father and his children here on earth, is but a mere reflection of God’s love for His sons and daughters. That’s breathtaking to me. God knows this truth is sometimes hard to grasp so He keeps sending me reminders, showing me that I am part of an incredibly beautiful family.

God whispers this word to you today: It’s okay to run to Him with your arms outstretched just wanting to be held. He’s a good Father. His Abba heart longs to hold you when you get hurt. Have you tears because of loss? Have you heartache caused by life’s problems? Do you feel pain? We hurt in so many different ways; we get knocked sideways when the unexpected hits, we go through hardships, we see others suffering and it touches our hearts, we feel their pain. In all of this, you have a Abba Father, ready to catch you as you run to Him. His hugs are the best hugs. His arms so full of compassion and understanding. Its the best feeling in this world to be held in arms of love, leaning in and listening to his heartbeat. His heart beats for you!  He wipes away the tears and speaks words of wisdom, of faith, of encouragement. You can run into these His arms, trusting Him, He’ll never let you fall.

I feel this is a word for someone who has made mistakes or made bad decisions that have led to heartache and sorrow. God sees you, he knows your pain and he doesn’t shame you or condemn you for those bad choices. He calls you out of them. His heart for you is one of pure, deep abiding love. He’s the one who gave His only begotten Son so that you could be free from those things that hold you captive! His longing is for you to be able to run without being ensnared, to love without restrictions, to be filled with peace and joy. So he asks you to come, as a child runs to daddy, in the midst of sorrow and tears. Come, find rest and hope in His arms of comfort. Come find redemption and strength to begin anew. He waits for you. With arms wide open, He waits for you. Take that leap of faith, beloved one. You won’t regret it. He is worthy. He is able.

    Psalm‬ ‭121:1-8‬ ‭MSG‬‬:

“I look up to the mountains; does my strength come from mountains? No, my strength comes from GOD, who made heaven, and earth, and mountains.

He won’t let you stumble, your Guardian God won’t fall asleep. Not on your life! Israel’s Guardian will never doze or sleep.

GOD ’s your Guardian, right at your side to protect you— Shielding you from sunstroke, sheltering you from moonstroke.

GOD guards you from every evil, he guards your very life. He guards you when you leave and when you return, he guards you now, he guards you always.”
