All your works shall give thanks to you, O LORD, and all your saints shall bless you!
They shall speak of the glory of your kingdom and tell of your power,
to make known to the children of man your mighty deeds, and the glorious splendor of your kingdom.
Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures throughout all generations. [The LORD is faithful in all his words and kind in all his works.]”
(Psa. 145:10–13 ESVi)
Oh, the goodness, the never failing goodness of God! His goodness is faithful as the rising sun. It doesn’t shatter or quit in the midst of the storm, instead His goodness reaches out and overtakes us. It’s never-ending in its pursuit to woe every heart to Christ Jesus. Never-ending in its commitment to see love break through. Though all around us the world sways in uncertainty and shakes in doubt,we live in the sure and unmovable rock of God, who fills us with the goodness of heaven. And we can say with David, I shall never be shaken.
We do not rest in the promises of earthly judges and kings. We rest on the promise of King Jesus. We do not trust in the shifting sands of the times we live in. No, our trust lies in the One who created the heavens and Earth. He is a sure foundation. His name is the name above all other names. We do not rely on this world to meet our needs, for all our needs are met in Him whose hand we hold. Jesus leads and guides us on a sure and trustworthy path. When we are in put in a position to choose, we chose for Jesus. We keep in mind how He thinks about things. When we are called by Him, we rise up and go. And we do not quit believing when all else seems to be going against us, because faith prevails. When others are confused, our eyes are set on Him. In Him there is no confusion nor doubts. We are not those that back down but we stand strong. In everything, in all circumstances, we do not quit, but we are busy doing our Fathers business. In this lies the goodness of God in us and about us.
I believe we are going to see the goodness of God in the land of the living. I believe that His goodness will prevail. I believe that we are a chosen people, a chosen generation. And as such we stand tall in the midst of darkness. When things look impossible to me, that is when I trust that God gets into the midst of it. He’s a master at doing the amazing in the impossible. Let us be those that trust in the Lord with all our hearts, that lean on Him and do not grow faint and give up. Will not our Just God defend and protect His chosen ones who cry out to Him day and night? And will He not do it speedily?
Let us be people of integrity filled with boldness. Let us hold up the arms of our spiritual leaders and pray goodness and blessing to be in the hearts of those in authority. Where we see wrong, let us infuse righteousness. Let us be as the army of Gideon, though small in number, went into battle and gained victory because they obeyed and believed in God. Too often we forget the victorious right hand of God and seek after lesser things to overcome our battle. But the battle belongs to the Lord! Our job is to stay in faith and in prayer. To worship with thanksgiving in our hearts. Let us remember that we are here to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ! Let us be strong in following after the spirit of the Word for the joy of the Lord is our strength! He is able.
Father, in the name of Jesus, we stand fast. We stand fast, believing. Lead us, guide us, and strengthen us Holy Spirit! Help us to be steadfast in prayer when it comes to battle. We ask for undivided hearts and minds to worship you, both in good and trying times. Give us eyes to see, righteousness to prevail, and help us to overcome adversity by faith and prayer. Lift us up Holy Spirit, above the circumstances so that we may see from a different perspective. Lift us up to see the view of heaven. We pray to have hearts that are full of compassion. Let us be moved to bless people and to pray for others. Oh, God of goodness, bless us! Bless us to be a blessing to others and to never forget the goodness of You. May we never be passive followers but passionate for the things of God. We pray and ask this in the mighty name of Jesus, amen. Amen.
